The beautiful riverside town of Hoi An is
situated on the coast about 45 minutes south of Da Nang. It is a living museum
oozing charm and culture from every corner.
During French colonisation, Hoi An served
as an administrative centre and later, during the American war, the town, with
the co-operation of both sides, remained almost completely undamaged. Thus Hoi
An really offers a sense of history unique in south East Asia.
Rainbow Divers opened their centre at the
Hoi An Beach Resort at the beginning of 2005.
They are the only PADI 5 Star and National Geographic dive centre in Hoi
An. It is also a Mares dive
centre and is managed and run by English PADI IDC
Staff Instructor Suzy Phipps. The levels of service, safety and professionalism
are as high as you would expect from any Rainbow Centre.
They run a daily half-day tour to the Cu
Lao Cham Marine Park offering diving and snorkelling. All are welcome on the
trip, whether you are a diver or snorkeller, or you just want to enjoy a
morning relaxing out on the water watching everyone else doing the hard work.
Children are also welcome.
They also offer all PADI courses from
try-dives and bubblemakers (for 8-10yr olds) to Divemaster and Instructor.
There is something available for everyone, what ever level you are at or want
to become.
The Cu Lao Cham
Marine Park is situated about 20km off the coast of Hoi An and is made up of 8
islands which are home to 155 species of corals, 202 species of fish, 4 species
of lobster and 84 species of molluscs! The journey to the islands takes about
30 minutes by speedboat. Departures are from the Hoi An Beach Resort at 7.30
am, returning for about 1pm. Booking is required one day in advance at one of
the offices.
